What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in a similar way. We call them all "cookies" here.
Cookies we use
| Type | Provider | Purpose | Consent needed? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quiz progress (sessionStorage) | Cuppa Quiz | Remembers your answers while you take a quiz. Deleted when you close the tab. | No, strictly necessary |
| Consent preferences | Google's consent platform (Privacy & messaging) | Stores your cookie choices so we don't ask on every page. | No, strictly necessary |
| Advertising (e.g. __gads, __gpi, IDE) | Google and its ad partners | Show ads, limit how often you see them, detect fraud, measure performance and, with your consent, personalize ads. | Yes |
We do not use analytics cookies. Advertising cookies are only set once ads are active on the site, and only as described above. Google lists the cookies it uses at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.
Managing your choices
Whenever the site uses non-essential cookies, a banner on your first visit lets you accept, reject or customize them. You can change your mind at any time with the "Privacy settings" link at the bottom of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may stop working.
For more about how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
